Who We Are
Girls Photo Club is a summer camp for girls wanting to learn photography, led by lifestyle photographer Margo Moritz. We believe in empowering girls with the confidence to learn an artistic skill, and put their own creativity into their art, whether its simply to make compelling photos, beautiful portraits of their friends, or aspire to become a professional photographer.
This club is for girls only, sorry boys! (LGBTQ are welcomed)
Who You Are
You are a young woman between the ages of 12 - 18 and want learn how to take beautiful and meaningful photos. You can have anywhere from no experience to a lot of experience with cameras and photography - all you need is the desire to learn and a digital SLR camera.

8 sessions over 8 weeks.
Tuesdays from 10 am - 12 pm.

*Will need a minimum enrollment of 4 students for class to proceed.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- How to shoot in manual (f-stops + shutter speeds + exposure principles)
- How to see different qualities of light
- Composition + Design
- Finding inspiration and telling a story
- Technical + Conceptual assignments
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Digital SLR camera or mirrorless camera that is able to shoot in Manual mode. (no iPhones)
- A positive attitude and simple curiosity. Don't worry about anything else, we will have fun!
In LA or SF?
If I get a minimum of 4 participants in either city, I will offer an in-person workshop for hand-on additional learning.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Margo has over 10 years in the commercial photography world, shooting for magazines, ad agencies, and dance companies. She has taught countless photography workshops and Editorial Photography at the Academy of Art University.
Margo started learning photography when she was just 13 years old herself. Photography became a deeply personal way for Margo to communicate and express herself and she wants to share that gift and empower young women with the same tools.
